This simple and pretty colourful project is my way to make all the different and for a lot of people quite confusing gender-terms a bit more graspable. Out of personal interest and because I have witnessed many degrading comments towards a lot of lgbtqi+-topics, I got motivated to use my design skills to make the world a better place. I came up with a really subtle way to get information to people, while actually focusing on something else – more precisely while playing a game, that has nothing to do with this subject.
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, jack, queen, king and ace of every colour results in a total 36-piece deck of cards, where each card is dedicated to a specific gender identity and also representing this in its colours. Also the four classic symbols diamonds, hearts, clubs and spades are replaced by the symbols for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender.
With a lot of love for details and much more gradients, forms and colours I took all my freedom to create a really outstanding and fun-looking print product, which hopefully will take at least a little part in communicating (sexual) knowledge.
